I started a wine store because wine is exciting. I grew up with wine. My dad made wine from wild grapes we picked here in Wisconsin. I would ask him questions. He had two neutral oak barrels filled with wine in the basement.
Wine is always changing and one has to know a lot. As a former Social Studies teacher, I have a lot of the knowledge that is necessary when it comes to wine.
I am a third-generation store owner. My grandfather started Cujak’s Food Market. My two sisters own their own businesses, so it seemed like a natural fit to me.
I believe in great customer service. That was ingrained in me by my parents; as well as, carrying quality products. I still remember going grocery shopping with my mom and fellow shoppers would tell my mom how, “no one has the quality” of product like you used to carry.
I used to work in fine dining and I loved helping guests select a bottle of wine to enjoy with their meal. Today, I get to do that plus for gifts, and help my clients learn more about wine and spirits.
I am a certified Sommelier through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust who believes in making wine and spirit shopping smart, fun and easy for the consumer.
